FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN

 

Job Summary

 

Primary job duties include installing, programming, commissioning, servicing, inspecting, repairing, replacing and testing fire alarm systems to the NFPA 72 standards. Duties include completion of all required documentation and occasional on-site emergency troubleshooting. This position will receive continued training on industry-leading fire alarm systems.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with Notifier ONYX series is required.

  • Current valid driver’s license is required.

  • 3-year minimum previous fire alarm experience required.

  • Basic knowledge of and proficiency in use of Windows and MS Office software is required.

  • Ability and commitment to working as scheduled is required.

  • Position requires ability to lift at least 25lbs and crawl into tight or awkward places.

  • Ability to climb ladders and use lifts.

  • Must be able to pass a drug test, background check and motor vehicle report.

  • Ability to be available on-call when scheduled and work occasional overtime as required for unscheduled service needs.

  • NICET certification or ability to obtain within first year

SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Job Summary: 

 

Position is responsible for managing and growing O&W’s business in Fire Alarm, Intercom, Sound, Paging, Door Access and Security Camera systems throughout eastern Wisconsin.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with new and existing commercial clients while seeking to increase sales volume.

  • Review and process important customer information (blueprints, plans, specifications, Requests for Proposals, etc.) and prepare timely, accurate and competitive bids for the sale of integrated solutions.

  • Generate clear and accurate work scope, material list, labor requirements and logistics plan for each project.

  • Work with and through other O&W team members to manage projects effectively to ensure that customers’ needs are met and O&W’s profitability is maximized.

  • Review and communicate billing information to ensure invoices are accurate and timely.

  • Maintain documentation of sales activities and related expenses.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, abilities and traits:

  • Ability to plan and manage daily activities within the assigned geographical area and vertical markets

  • Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience selling low-voltage systems for Commercial, Institutional, Educational, Healthcare or Government applications

  • Strong working knowledge of solutions sales methodology, computers and networking is a major plus

  • Low-voltage system design and integration experience

  • Ability to develop clear, accurate and rational sales proposals

  • Ability to present solutions, both orally and in writing, to contractors, end users and consultants

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate and close on selling opportunities 

  • Ability to multi-task and keep current on all projects sold, products, services, industry and competitive trends

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant business software programs as required

  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical and legal work practices, always keeping safety and honesty as top priorities

  • Strong ability to quickly identify and resolve customer issues

Qualification Requirements:

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Requires writing, math and organizational skills.

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a High School diploma. It is desirable for the incumbent to have attained additional business-related education, such as an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Sales/Marketing. Equivalent experience in the low voltage and/or contracting industry will be considered.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to work independently, develop positive rapport with customers, set and accomplish goals, and design and present solutions to meet customers’ needs.

  • Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner while carefully observing all traffic rules and regulations.

Language Skills:

This position requires the ability to effectively and professionally communicate in English both orally and in written form with customers, architects, engineers, code officials, contractors, peers and management.

PART-TIME SALES ASSISTANT

 

Job Summary: 

Assist sales personnel with project documentation. Typical schedule will vary between 15 and 25 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Maintain/update spreadsheets

  • Perform material take-offs from drawings

  • Confirm and apply material pricing to quotations

  • Assist with project close-out documents

  • Other administrative duties as assigned/needed

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills with proven ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as customers and vendors

  • Well organized and detail-oriented

  • Basic knowledge of and proficiency in use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other

 

Education and Experience:

  • Familiarity with construction industry is a plus but not required. Will train the right individual.
