POSITION:  Sales Representative

REPORTS TO:  President

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for managing and growing OWC’s business in the Intercom, Sound, Paging, Door Access and Surveillance Camera product groups throughout southeast Wisconsin and other areas as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with new and existing clients while seeking to increase sales volume, account penetration and recurring monthly revenue.

  • Review and process important customer information (blueprints, plans, specifications, Requests for Proposals, etc.) and prepare timely, accurate and competitive bids for the sale of integrated solutions to potential and existing commercial clients.

  • Generate clear and accurate work scope, material list, labor requirements and logistics plan for each project.

  • Work with and through other OWC team members to manage projects effectively such that customers’ needs are met and OWC’s profitability is maximized.

  • Review and communicate billing information to ensure that customers are invoiced in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Follow up with past due accounts as necessary to secure payment for sold products and services in a manner that ensures payment but also maintains a positive business relationship.

  • Maintain documentation of sales activities and related expenses.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, abilities and traits:

  • Ability to plan and manage daily activities within the assigned geographical area and vertical markets

  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience, preferably working directly with customers selling intercom, sound, paging, door access and video surveillance systems for Commercial, Institutional, Educational, Healthcare or Government applications.

  • Strong working knowledge of solutions sales methodology, computers and networking is a major plus

  • Low-voltage system design and integration experience

  • Ability to develop clear, accurate, thoughtful and rational sales proposals that meet customers’ needs and OWC’s profitability goals

  • Ability to present solutions, both orally and in writing, to contractors, end users and consultants

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively follow up on, negotiate and close on selling opportunities 

  • Ability to multi-task and keep current on all projects sold, products, services, industry and competitive trends

  • Inherent motivation to meet and exceed revenue and sales productivity targets including system installation sales and service

  • Constant desire and ability to promote OWC to new clients from internal leads, cold calls, and networking events

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant business software programs as required

  • Understanding and follow-through required for successful project management

  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical and legal work practices, always keeping safety and honesty as top priorities

  • Strong ability to quickly identify and resolve customer issues

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Requires strong English, math and organizational skills

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a High School diploma. It is desirable for the incumbent to have attained additional business-related education, such as an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Sales and Marketing. Equivalent experience in the low voltage and/or contracting industry will be considered.

  • Must be able to work independently, develop positive rapport with customers, set and accomplish goals, and design and present solutions to meet customers’ needs.

  • Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner while carefully observing all traffic rules and regulations.

POSITION:  Low Voltage Systems Installation Technician

 

REPORTS TO:  Operations Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Safely and efficiently install, maintain and repair low voltage system wiring and equipment. Ensure work is compliant with applicable codes. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and basic network related problems encountered by end-users of the network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

Read and understand building plans and blueprints of electrical layouts for low voltage wiring and device systems.  

Inspect installation sites and study work orders and installation manuals in order to determine equipment requirements and most efficient installation procedures.

Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required.

Mount raceways and conduits, and fasten wires to wood framing, using staplers.

Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets. Position and terminate cables, wires and strapping.

Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras. Attach electrical and telephone wiring in order to connect components.

Examine existing systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.

Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.

Test backup batteries, strobes, horns, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning and to diagnose malfunctions.

Request orders for replacement parts.

Keep informed of new products and developments.

Perform additional duties assigned as needed.

Travel is required for this position. Travel expenses are reimbursed by the Company.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

A comprehensive knowledge of low voltage security, alarm and communications systems is required. This includes an understanding of electrical components and proper installation techniques.

Ability to read and understand building plans and blueprints of electrical layouts for low voltage wiring and device systems is required.

Ability to read and write in English is required.

This position requires a valid driver’s license. Driving record is subject to review and approval by O&W Communications management.

This position is subject to periodic drug testing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of two years’ experience related to the job duties of this position is required.

POSITION:  Fire Alarm Inspection Assistant

 

REPORTS TO:  Inspection Manager

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Assist fire alarm inspectors complete annual fire alarm inspections effectively and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

Act as a communication relay between the fire alarm control panel/annunciator and inspectors via 2 way radio or other acceptable form of communication.

Clearly provide inspector with specific information displayed on fire alarm display.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to read and write in English is required.  Ability to communicate clearly using a 2 way radio is required.

This position requires a valid driver’s license. Driving record is subject to review and approval by O&W Communications management.

This position is subject to periodic drug testing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Previous fire alarm experience a plus.

POSITION:  Part-time Administrative Clerk

 

REPORTS TO:  Accounting/Office Manager

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

 

Assist office staff with general data entry, filing, answering phone, etc. Typical schedule will be 15 to 20 hours per week.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Accounts Payable – enter vendor invoices and process payments

  • Accounts Receivable – process and send customer invoices

  • Inventory – enter inventory items as received and apply to purchase orders

  • Customer service – answer customer phone calls and submit work order as needed

  • Other administrative duties as assigned/needed

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills with proven ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as customers and vendors

  • Well organized and detail-oriented

  • Basic knowledge of and proficiency in use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred
